Which electric bike has the highest top speed

“Which electric bike is the fastest?” It’s not the first time we’ve asked this question, but it’s the first time we decided to go out and actually test them. We took a lineup of high-powered e-bikes—rumored to be the fastest—out to the countryside and open roads. Helmets on, throttles wide open. Wind in our faces, hearts racing. The answer? It’s not as simple as a number—but it sure was a wild ride getting there.

It all started with a friend’s throwaway comment.
“E-bikes these days go faster than some motorcycles, huh?”
We, being a bunch of bike nerds, instantly disagreed: “Says who? You ridden them all?”
And that’s how this weekend’s little project kicked off—we’d test out some of the fastest e-bikes on the market and crown a speed king.
So we took our gear and headed out—from city streets to backroads, even a few dirt trails. Clear skies, dry roads. Perfect for testing. We lined up five known “speed demons” from different brands—some American-made torque monsters, one Chinese-modified beast, and the Ecoe Electric Bike with a 5000W dual-motor setup.
At first, we were joking around. Later? One of us got off the bike trembling, saying, “That wasn’t riding… that was flying.”

Before heading out, we did a little research on Reddit and ElectricBikeReview. Turns out, e-bike speed is a whole underground obsession. One guy posted about his 72V, 8000W custom rig that hit 62mph—on flat land. He called it “the land rocket.”
Another rider, Dave from Nevada, posted a video of his 5000W off-roader hitting 58mph in the desert. You can hear him yelling mid-ride, “Holy sh*t! It flies!”
One more rider claimed his 6000W bike hit 48mph going downhill… until he hit gravel, lost traction, and tumbled into a ditch. His advice? “Speed is fun, until it’s not.”
Reading all that, we were both hyped and a bit freaked out. Could we really push our test bikes to those levels?
We set up two test scenarios: a long straightaway on a closed road, and a light mountain trail. Using GPS trackers and onboard displays, we measured top speeds from a dead start to full throttle.

Here’s what we got:
Bike Model | Motor Power | Claimed Top Speed | Actual Top Speed (mph) | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Stealth B-52 | 6200W | 50 mph | 56.2 mph | Built like a tank—stable at high speed |
HPC Revolution AT | 5000W | 50 mph | 53.1 mph | Great on rough terrain |
Sur Ron Light Bee X (modded) | 6000W | 52 mph | 54.4 mph | Bit bouncy but super agile |
Ecoe Electric Bike 5000W | 5000W | 28 mph (Eco mode) | 48.6 mph (Sport mode) | Surprisingly fast, great balance |
Qulbix Q76R | 8000W | 60+ mph | 60.7 mph | Fastest, but technically a motorbike |
The surprise? The Ecoe Electric Bike performed way better than we expected. While marketed as a commuter and adventure hybrid, it managed to pull off 48.6 mph in Sport Mode. It wasn’t the fastest on the list, but it was easily the most balanced—powerful, smooth, and comfortable all in one.
Not everyone’s chasing max speed, though. Take Melanie from Arizona—we met her online and chatted about her daily ride.
“I never go over 30 mph,” she said. “I want something stable, comfortable, and with a battery that lasts.”
She rides an Ecoe Electric Bike, and usually stays in Eco mode around 20-25 mph. “City traffic’s too chaotic. Speed is fun, but safety is more important.”

We couldn’t agree more. At nearly 50 mph, the wind starts to push back, the road feels less forgiving, and you realize—this isn’t just a bike anymore. It’s a machine you need to respect.
So while we tested the limits, we also reminded ourselves: Just because it can go fast doesn’t mean it always should.
So, which electric bike has the highest top speed? On paper, the Qulbix Q76R wins. It hit over 60 mph and felt like it could go even faster. But it’s not street legal in many places unless registered as a motorcycle.
If you’re asking which e-bike we’d actually ride daily, our vote goes to the Ecoe Electric Bike 5000W.
It’s fast, yes. But also reliable. Smooth on trails, solid in the city, and the included accessories (mirrors, cargo rack, smart display) made it feel like a complete package. And the dual suspension? Lifesaver when we hit bumps at 40+ mph.
I guess what we learned is—top speed is only part of the story. The real win is having a bike that lets you choose your pace, your terrain, your mood.

Our ideal scenario? A quiet road at sunrise. No traffic, just the hum of the motor and the wind rushing past. 25mph, maybe 30. Then maybe—just maybe—open it up a little more.
Not because we have to.
But because we can.
